Now days Trincomalee boasts as a rapidly emerging destination of Whale watching.You can witness Blue whales and small number of Sperm whales. Other than that you will meet pods of spinner dolphins which will show you their acrobatic skills in seas around Trincomalee. Most sightings occur between March/April and August/September, as whales continue their migrations around the island from the south coast. With resident and migratory colonies being spotted off the island’s east and south coast, Sri Lanka is fast becoming a top spot to watch Blue Whales, Sperm Whales and Dolphins.
