Buduruwagala, Wellawaya
Buduruwagala is ancient Buddhist temple in wellawaya,Sri Lanka.Buduruwagala is located about four miles southeast of Wellawaya in Monaragala district. It dates back to 9th or 10th century.The carvings with seven statues are believed to be coming from Mahayana school of thoughts. The gigantic Buddha statue still has its original robe and some orange strips that reminds us once it was brightly painted. The central of the three figures to the Buddha's right is thought to be the Buddhist mythological figure-the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.
