Laxapana waterfall is the 8th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka.It is situated in Maskeliya area in Nuwara Eliya district.the laxapana waterfall gives power to twin hydropower stations, the old Laxapana power station and new Laxapana power station.Laxapana waterfall is Quite easy to get to by car and only requires a bit of a hike.Laxapana waterfall is based in highlands and weather is cooler in that area. It is situated in a deep base pool.
Baker’s Falls is one of the widest in Sri Lanka, consisting of many little streams rushing down a rock face. Only a bit of a hike away from Horton Plains, this is an easy waterfall to visit. The falls were named after Sir Samuel Baker, who was a famous explorer .Beware that when it has rained the entire area becomes very slippery. The greenery is very pretty in this area, full of ferns and rhododendrons.
Bambarakanda is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka.it towers 263 meters over the base pool. There is no access to the pool but the downpour can be seen from a little road that climbs up the hill. Bambarakanda looks at its most impressive after the rains but is even harder to get to due to the mud. The waterfall was formed by Kuda Oya, which is a branch of the Walawe River. The Bambarakanda Falls can be found in a forest of pine trees.
Bopath ella is a unique waterfall because of its shape .Bopath means bo leaf and bo tree is so unique to Buddhists because that worship it as there sacred tree. Bopath Ella resembles a Bo leaf with its thin short stream that opens up to a wider fall towards the bottom. Bopath Ella is quite easy to visit as it’s in vicinity of a village close to the mining town of Rathnapura. It’s possible to swim in the base pool.
Ravana Falls is a popular sightseeing attraction in Sri Lanka. It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country.It is situated in Ella area of Sri Lanka.There is lots of hiking in this area, including Adam’s Peak and Horton Plains. St. Clair's Falls is one of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka and is commonly known as the "Little Niagara of Sri Lanka".It is the 20th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka.The waterfall is consisted with two waterfalls named as Maha ella and Kuda Ella.The falls are located along the Kotmale Oya, a tributary of the Mahaweli River, as it cascades over three rock outcrops into a large pool, running through a tea estate, from which the falls derive their name from.
Devon waterfall is one of the most popular cascades waterfall in Sri Lanka and has a very clear view because of Hatton Nuware Eliya road . Almost Everybody who travels on this road to Nuwara Eliya is bound to at least break rest here before continuing the journey. Located at close to Talawakele town. Standing from 220m High Diyaluma is the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. It’s the 136 th higest waterfall in the world.it is situated in Badulla district near Koslanda on Colombo Badulla highway. The waterfall is formed by Punagala Oya. In Sinhalese, Diyaluma or Diya Haluma means "rapid flow of water" or may be translated as "liquid light". Diyaluma Second only to the Bambarakanda Falls in height.Diyaluma cascades down a massive rock slab before tumbling frothily down 220 meters to its base.
