Trek to Ohiya through Bambarakanda waterfall
This tour will be one of most scenic tour that an ordinary tourist will never experience in Sri Lanka. Tour starts from Haputale you will be trekking through a protected forest and will see train tracks and trains that was created by British, in the colonial era.
Then you will be walking parallel to railway line amidst misty tea estate with a fascinating view below and you will come to a scenic cliff where you will be served with picnic meal. After that we enter a forest which is also very scenic and end of this you will come across a remote tea estate. Find the villages who are friendly and they have been brought to Sri Lanka by British rulers to work on tea estates in the colonial era.
After that you will be going to another remote tea estate and you will spend your night in a Home stay which is with very basic one but palace is very clean and you will be greeted by the caretaker and the cook and you will be served with their hearts. You will enjoy rice and curry for the dinner and experience the village life in this remote estate.
As the day breaks you will be served with a hot cup of tea and with a hearty breakfast and we will say goodbye to our friendly homestay and proceed to mountain cliff to get the best view and you will have a chance to interact with locals and get to know their way of living. Then you will pass a place called "Devils Staircase "which ends with a fascinating view. At this point you will be led to a waterfall called "Lanka Falls "which you will be able swim in the natural pool and have a picnic meal.
After that we continue to the Sri Lanka's highest waterfall which is named as "Bambarakanda Waterfall"and you will be amazed by its beauty. If you wish you can be transferred to the starting point of the waterfall and you will be able to indulge some water activities at this point. After watching "Bambarakanda Waterfall" our journey will come to an end where you will be picked by your chauffer.
